COVID 19 Update

I am very pleased to note that everyone’s cooperation with complying with the COVID 19 protocols has been very successful. This was indeed a challenge, but we did it. Good Job!

It is a part of our training to display courtesies and respect for everyone in the dojo and to carry that attitude with us outside of the dojo in our daily life. So with this in mind, we want to err on the side of caution in the dojo as the COVID restrictions are being lifted. Many of our students have not received a vaccination and are still at risk of getting the virus. Also, there are students who have relatives that for various reasons are at high risk of acquiring the virus and in some cases cannot be vaccinated. We want to protect them as well.

Starting in June we will be modifying some of our safety requirements:

  • We will continue to check temperatures when entering the dojo.
  • We will continue to follow COVID protocols for anyone feeling sick or who has been in contact with anyone who has the virus.
  • Social distancing will be encouraged when appropriate.
  • We will start engaging in self-defense hands-on techniques as well as kumite and kumite drills with partners.
  • Masks must still be worn when interacting with others at the dojo.
  • Those who have been vaccinated have the option of not wearing a mask when working individually and maintaining social distancing.
